Scoliosis
One definition of scoliosis is a spinal
deformity in a skeletally mature person with a Cobb angle of more than
10° in the coronal plane. Another definition of scoliosis is curvature of the spine. Most cases of scoliosis are degenerative, idiopathic, or without a known cause. Contrary to old wives tales, scoliosis is not caused by playing sports, having poor posture, or carrying heavy things.
and yes, i am a mature (as in age) person, but skeletally mature refers to someone whose bones have stopped growing. LOL
nice, huh?
i'm tired of having this. i don't like the back pain. i don't like the way my clothes hang on me. i don't like my posture. i don't like that i'm shorter than i would actually be if i didn't have this. i just don't like this!
i would love to have this corrected at Baylor Scoliosis Center. but, i'm too chicken. i am terrified of the screws that they would have to use. i know. silly me.
but i am happy that i am healthy enough to enjoy my family, and enjoy my life. so i'll try to remember to stand up straighter, quit complaining and work on my courage.
oh, and smile more often!
:)
happy Thursday everyone!
