so many new things to blog about

WoW! it has been way i long since i've posted anything. i know that most of posts start off with this or something similar. it's been a very busy few months. i was planning on keeping up with this blog on a very regular basis. life just threw me a curve ball, but i'm adjusting now.  Burgandi and Mike have separated and i have been helping them by keeping Harrison for them while Burgandi found a job and a sitter. you know what they say about change though. it's the only thing that is constant. Burgandi is now working and the sitter is in place. Harrison will be going home soon and not just for a few days at a time. i think we will be making lots of frequent trips to see them (like we don't usually anyway... LOL). i think Harrison will be coming for lots of overnight stays.  i miss the time that Burgandi and i used to spend together just hanging out or shopping or scrapping. hopefully soon we can get some girl time in.

so here are 7 things that you may not know about me but might find interesting:

1.  i wanted to be a writer when i was a little girl. i still want to be a writer when i grow up. :)
2.  i bought my dog some really cool dog shampoo one time.  so cool that i didn't realize it was his        and i took a shower with it one day. 
3.  i hate to drive, but i love to travel...so i drive.
4.  i eat pizza with just a little bitty bit of sauce and very little cheese. so basically, it's bread and meat.
5.  i love to wear my TomTom's.
6.  i can't write in a straight line to save my life.
7.  i've made 3 art journal pages in the last week! WooHoo. this would be thanks to Marit. i am taking her on-line class(Let it Loose) that Jocelyn invited me to take with her. this has really been more fun than i ever thought it would be. i am learning so many new techniques and just letting myself let loose and play with play and so many other things.

what a weekend! we had so much fun. i have to say that i was a little concerned that Harrison was going to be overwhelmed with everything, but he did fantastic. and he had a blast. when he first got here on Thursday he was wearing his "Max" from Where the Wild Things Are costume. he didn't want to take it off. then on Halloween night he didn't want to put it back on because i had made the crown and  attached it. he finally put it on and he was really adorable, if i say so myself.

This Can Mean Only One Thing

Project 365/3

i couldn't stand it anymore. i had to go get Little Man. he really wasn't unhappy. really. he had just woken up. Burgandi says that it looks like he's saying, 'i just woke up and already the d--- camera. get me a break'.  oh well. this (and of course seeing Burgandi and Mike too) was the highlight of my day.

i'll post some art later this week. probably on Thursday.

My first digi scrap

Okay family and friends, this is my first attempt at making a digi scrap layout. I don't know what I think about it yet. All I know is that it is all more involved than I thought it would be. I have a very long way to go.

Guess who's in town

Hello everyone.  Guess who is visiting me.  It's Burgandi, Mike and Harrison.
They have been here since Friday and I am in heaven.  I'll get to have them here til  Thursday, so if I'm not on as much that's why.  It has been over a month since I've seen them and Harrison has grown so much.  I can't get enough of him.  I can't believe he is already 9 months old.   The time has just flown by.

I've had such a wonderful weekend just spending time with them.  I love getting up and giving Harrison a bath and taking him for  walks in his stroller.   The weather has been so beautiful.  Fall is actually setting in I believe.  We don't always have much of a fall, but we did last year and it looks like we are going to be blessed with another cool autumn this year.  That would be wonderful.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend so far. 

TGIF -- For Reals

I am so glad that it's Friday.  Jake and I are going to spend the weekend at home, starting today.  We are going to be doing some work on the house.  I am going to do some deep cleaning...meaning closets, kitchen cabinets, etc.  I'm going to rearrange some furniture and maybe even re-purpose some rooms in the house. Jake is going to paint my kitchen island and my master bath.  Hopefully, he'll have time to re-tile the bathroom too.

We got a counter offer on our offer and were encouraged to counter back.  We decided not to make the counter offer,  so we will continue to look for something else.  I'm getting a little discouraged...but....I'm not giving up, yet!

Oh, by the way, when I was in Pittsburgh with my son, we went to eat at TGIF.  He said he had never been to eat at one.  WHAT?  How old are you?  Where have you been all your life?  hehe     And he lived in Austin for more than 2 years.  Hence the photo below.

Look who's here!

Look at this sweet baby.  I have really missed him.  He is getting so big and doing so many new things now.  Burgandi and Mike got here tonight with Harrison. I'm gonna be loving me some Harrison.  We will be going to graduations and celebrating Mother's Day and Emily's birthday too.  We are celebrating Mother's Day by having a new dinner and just enjoying each others company.  I'm sure there will be some card games and board games going on too.  Yippee! 

How will you be celebrating Mother's Day.

I am really excited because my son and his girlfriend will be here too. It's been since Christmas that we have all been together.  I see them frequently, but we don't all get to be in one place at the same time as often as I would like. So I'm really going to enjoy this weekend.

In case I don't get a chance to get back on before Mother's Day, I hope you all have a very happy day!

It's Tuesday again?

Well, I had a great week.    My daughter Burgandi, and my grandson were here on last Tuesday.  My hubby and I took them home on Sunday.  While she was here, we went to San Angelo to see my nieces play volleyball.  My sister and the girls had a school holiday so they came here  for a little mini vacation.  They were here for 3 days.  We had so much fun squabbling  over who was going to  hold Harrison, feed Harrison,  put Harrison to sleep, etc.  By the way, my hubby is the official "baby hog". 

Burgandi, Olivia, and Emily scrapbooked.  Burgandi bought Livie a scrapbook and some papers.  It was both of  my niece's first time to scrap.  They did such a awesome job.  I had fun watching and cutting Olivia's pages to 8X8 sizes. 

I wanted to give them my undivided attention so I didn't scrap or post on my blog or any sites while they were here.  Do you want to know how tempted I was though.  LOL

I had so much fun, but I have to tell you that on Monday, I was exhausted and I was feeling a little under the weather.  I'm feeling better today, so maybe I'll play a little and get something posted. 
I had photos and ideas for a couple of challenges last week so I'm gonna go ahead and do those, then try to do this weeks challenges I have my eye on.

City Boy

This is my sweet, handsome son.  I call him City Boy.  We are from a small town in West Texas and he moved to the big city of Austin.  He is my sentimental, loving, giving, family guy.   He has a heart bigger than anyone else I've meet in a while (except my Dad).

I love this kid.

just pondering...

Just sittin here thinking about so many things tonight.   We went out to eat tonight with two other couples and I had such a good time.  It seems like ages  since we've been out with other couples.

It's such a new season in our lives and I am truly enjoying it.   Yes, I miss the kids, both of them.  I miss my grandson.  At the same time, I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life with my best friend, my soul mate.  I can't wait to experience all the things that are waiting for us.  We are so blessed in so many ways and I want to take full advantage of all of what we have.  We enjoy being "us".   

Here's to a new beginning, babe.  Im excited!
