Happy Birthday Burgandi! my wish for you is to have the most fabulous year. i hope you know what a blessing you are to me and your Dad. you are such a fantastic Momma to Harrison. he is such the luckiest little guy.

seed hearts and blooms

this is Thursdays prompt for the art journaling class that i'm taking.   i had  a little trouble with this one, but i do like the way the page turned out.  it should have a more surreal feel to it.  i think i'm gonna use another image and try this again.
this image is from La Vie Claire, and the cool thing is that the quote came with it. it describes how i've felt lately creating these pages.  i'm not sure that my art journal pages are so beautiful, but i have been very pleased with them and i can't tell you how much fun this class is.   i told the instructor, Marit,   that i was afraid that i was not going to enjoy this class because i didn't think i would be able to keep up with the other girls.i thought it was going to add move stress to my already stressed out days.  but no. nope, no no.  our class is made up of the nicest ladies.  i feel so comfortable and safe.  we are all learning from each other. we give each other constructive criticism,  and Marit is on the spot, ready to answer any questions we have.  thanks Jocelyn for inviting me to take this class with you.

today is a pajama day

This was waiting for me when i got home from Pittsburgh!  it is such an adorable card with so much detail.  i just love the colors and the bling-y scarf.   it made me smile.

this box made me smile too.

...but because this sweet lady thought about me!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jocelyn.
i just want you to know that you have kept me sane this year and you put some merry in my heart. thank you. 

so i must confess that even though i got up around 5 am this morning, it's been a busy morning.  i am going to run a hot tub, use these yummy products and put on some fresh pajamas. i'm going to make a cup of hot chocolate, put on a holiday movie and start wrapping all those presents.
it's definitely going to be a pajama day.

another one bites the dust

well, another month as come and has almost gone.  if anyone finds my days, could you please return them to me?

i have a few pictures to share with you. the first one is a Halloween card that i got from my sweet friend Jocelyn.  it's so cute with spiders that wiggled and jiggled inside it.

these next pictures are of a trip that Burgandi and i took. we had the best time. we took a trip to see the fall foliage. i don't have all the pictures, but i'll post a few of what i do have. the colors were not at their most brilliant but it was still beautiful.

I Promised You

that i would post a photo of this sweet vintage highchair.  the enamel tray is removable for easier cleaning. we have come to appreciate that for sure.

Thanksgiving

i can't believe how fast the days have gone by.  it's almost been a week since i've blogged. there has been so much going on with my family right now health wise. Harrison had  a EEG on Tuesday. we should be getting the results this coming week. Burgandi was told she might have cancer, but test came back that it is precancerous cells. She will have surgery in December. They were going to do it this coming Monday, but had to reschedule. It's been a stressful couple of weeks.

i was reading my friend  Jennifer's blog over at Slightly Off Course and she reminded me that i have so much to be thankful for. she has invited everyone to blog daily this month about what they are thankful for.
there are only 8 days left in November, but i'm going to join her on this.  so here is my thankful list for today.

Burgandi does not have cancer.

Harrison is a happy, rambunctious, fun baby.

Jakey will be home tomorrow for Thanksgiving.

there really is so much more, but i can hardly keep my eyes open. i'll share more later today or tomorrow.

I can feel it coming in the air tonight

these lyrics popped into my head today when i went outside. there was a cool, wet breeze in the air and the leaves on our Red Oak are finally turning red. the time for burning a fire in the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate, wearing my boots, roasting marshmallows, and wearing warm pj's, and decorating for Christmas is right around the corner. i love warm soups for supper, curling up on the couch with a soft warm blanket and a good book, and spending time with family and good friends.

here in central Texas we don't get to wear heavy coats too often, but one of my weaknesses is buying (and hopefully getting to wear) light jackets. i don't know what the obsession is, but i can't help myself. i love all lengths and all colors. just too much fun. i'm so looking forward to all of this.
